Lough Doo

This route takes you out of Manorhamilton and through some back roads in Glenboy and East Barrs to a delightful climb to a mountain-top lake.

Head 1km east out the N16 and turn right for Glenboy. At the fork bear left. Wind through the back lanes of East Barrs until you reach a right turn through forestry. A tarred road brings you halfway up the mountain before a gravelled section brings you to the summit. The entire climb is some 4.5km at 6% with a maximum of 16%. Descend carefully and head across the N16 for more back roads back to Manorhamilton.
